Google Ads & Meta for weight-loss clinics

# Medical weight loss clinic marketing agency

MedScale Health runs paid ads for GLP-1 programs, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide (compounded, not FDA-approved), and physician-supervised weight loss. The highest-intent search demand in local healthcare, and the fastest way to get an ad account restricted if the creative is built like a supplement ad.

Where this category loses

Clinics get restricted for three things: naming the drug in a Meta ad or keyword-targeting it on Google without certification, a site that reads like an online pharmacy, and second-person hooks like "tired of the weight?" that trip Meta's personal-attributes rule. Meta's weight-loss rules also still bar close-ups pinching fat and results promised by a set date. The fix is structural, not clever wording.

Creative and page rules

## What clears review for medical weight loss.

Do

- Name the program and the supervision, not the molecule
- Provider-to-camera and explainer formats
- Keep drug names out of Google keywords until certified, and out of Meta ads
- Target 18+ on every platform

Don't

- Close-ups pinching fat, or a result promised by a set date
- "Tired of the weight?" or any second-person hook
- Semaglutide, tirzepatide or brand names as keywords or in Meta ads without certification
- Pixel events named after the drug

The offer

## What you get with MedScale for medical weight loss clinics

MedScale Health runs paid acquisition for medical weight loss clinics: Google search on program and clinic intent, provider-led Meta creative about the program and the supervision, a program landing page that books consults, and server-side tracking under a BAA that credits each booked consult to the campaign that produced it. We run ads for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide programs as well as branded ones, and every compounded product is described as compounded, not FDA-approved. Every ad and page is checked against Google's and Meta's rules before it is submitted: drug names stay out of Google keywords until the clinic is certified, and out of Meta ads until LegitScript certification and Meta's authorization are in place.

**Campaigns**

Meta and Google Ads, set up and run inside your own accounts. TikTok where the category allows it.

**Ad creative**

8 ads at launch, statics and motion video. On Growth, 6 new ads every month; on Scale, a new round every week.

**Landing pages**

A page for each offer, written for the ad that sends people to it, on your domain.

**Tracking**

Server-side conversion tracking under a BAA, so no health information reaches the ad platforms.

**Compliance review**

Every ad and page checked against Meta's, Google's and TikTok's health rules before it is submitted, with the rule it clears written down.

**Reporting**

A written report every Monday: spend, patients and cost per patient by campaign, what we changed and why. Calls on your package's schedule.

**Ownership**

Ad accounts, pages, creative and tracking stay in your name. We work as a partner on your accounts.

Policy reality

## What each platform allows for medical weight loss.

Each platform's position for this category, with how we run it underneath. Where a cell names a certification it is LegitScript, the third-party certification Meta and Google require before a pharmacy or telehealth provider can advertise prescription drugs, unless the cell says otherwise.

Checked 2026-10-23 [How the platforms compare](https://medscale.health/answers/telehealth-advertising-policy-map)

### Meta

Certification LegitScript

**Rejects the ad**

- Statements of inferiority about the body
- Close-ups pinching fat
- Results promised by a set date without a qualifier
- "tired of the weight?" personal-attribute hooks
- Naming semaglutide or tirzepatide without certification
- Under-18 targeting

**Risks the account**

- Landing page that reads like an online pharmacy
- Repeated resubmission of flagged creative
- Pixel events named after the drug

**Requires**

LegitScript certification, then Meta's authorization, before an online pharmacy or telehealth provider can name a prescription drug. Meta's weight-loss policy sends prescription weight loss to that rule. Clinic-service ads that never name the drug run without it. Since July 22, 2026, 18+ weight-loss ads may show before-and-after comparisons; showing the product in use and its impact was already allowed.

**How we run it**

Weight-loss ads must target 18+ and cannot imply inferiority about appearance, show close-ups pinching fat, or promise a result by a set date without a qualifier. Since July 22, 2026 they may also show before-and-after comparisons. Prescription weight-loss defers to the drugs policy (LegitScript for online pharmacies and telehealth). Our house rule is stricter: no before-and-after in the ads we run. Address the program, never the reader's body.

### Google Ads

Certification LegitScript

**Rejects the ad**

- Drug-name keywords without certification
- Prescription-drug ads from an uncertified telemedicine provider or online pharmacy
- Unrealistic weight-loss claims

**Risks the account**

- Bidding on trademarked drug names
- Circumventing certification with misspellings

**Requires**

Telemedicine providers and online pharmacies need Google's prescription drug services certification (LegitScript or NABP first in the US) before prescription-drug ads serve. Since October 29, 2025, an in-person clinic can name semaglutide or tirzepatide in US ad text and on its landing page without certification; keyword-targeting those terms still needs Google's certification. Program- and clinic-intent keywords are open.

**How we run it**

As of October 2026, an in-person clinic can name semaglutide or tirzepatide in US ad text and on its landing page without certification; that changed on October 29, 2025. Keyword-targeting those terms still needs Google's certification, and a clinic that prescribes online as telemedicine needs certification before prescription-drug ads serve. Bid on program and treatment intent ("medical weight loss clinic near me", "GLP-1 program") and keep drug names out of the keyword list until certified.

### TikTok

Restricted

**Rejects the ad**

- Compounded or unapproved GLP-1 products
- Prescription ads without proof of FDA approval or targeted under 18
- Body-shaming or transformation content

**Risks the account**

Advertising compounded medication as a product

**Requires**

As of October 2026, US prescription medicine ads may be allowed with proof of FDA approval and certification, restricted to 18+. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved and can't qualify, so compounded programs use TikTok for awareness only. Weight-loss surgical procedures in the US need TikTok sales-rep approval; supplements and meal replacements run 18+.

**How we run it**

Weight-management ads are restricted. As of October 2026, US prescription medicine ads may be allowed with proof of FDA approval, 18+ only, but compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide can't qualify. Useful for clinic brand awareness with provider-led content, rarely for direct response.

What we run

## The playbook for medical weight loss.

**Pre-checked against policy before launch**

Every ad

**Server-side tracking live under a BAA**

Wk 2

**Report on cost per booked consult**

Monday

Set at kickoff, reported against weekly, measured by the tracking we install in week one.

**Search on treatment intent**

Campaigns built around program and clinic queries. The drug can be named in the ad text and on the landing page; drug keywords wait for certification. Location-level budgets and call tracking tied to the booked consult. The two-phase plan is set out in [Google Ads for weight loss clinics](https://medscale.health/clinics/medical-weight-loss/google-ads), with a separate page on [paid search alongside an SEO partner](https://medscale.health/clinics/medical-weight-loss/seo).

**Policy-clean Meta creative**

Provider-to-camera and program-explainer formats, pre-cleared against the health and personal-attributes rules. Our house rule keeps before-and-after out of the ads we run, even where Meta allows it. No close-ups pinching fat, no dated promises, no "you".

**Landing pages that convert**

A program landing page that filters for candidacy before the consult is booked, with server-side tracking on every step and no third-party pixel touching a health field.

Results

## Results from the accounts.

Anonymised results from telehealth brands and clinics that run on our tracking. Names are withheld. Results vary by brand, offer and budget.

**Four times the rate from visitor to member**

For a GLP-1 membership brand, visitors who came in through one entry page became paying members at 1.8%, against 0.4% for visitors who arrived on the homepage.

**A booking drop found and fixed**

A multi-location clinic group saw bookings from Meta fall by about half in a week. We traced the cause, and it was not the ads. Once it was fixed, bookings per 100 Meta visitors went from 0.9 back to 1.7.

Medical weight loss questions

## What clinics ask us first.

**How much does a medical weight loss marketing agency cost?**

With MedScale Health, the fee is set by scope after a free Growth Audit: which platforms, how many locations and programs, and how much new creative each month. It runs month to month, with no long contract. Ad spend is separate and is paid straight to Google and Meta from the clinic's own accounts, which stay in your name. The audit reviews your current ads, pages and tracking and returns a written plan, so the scope is clear before you commit.

**Do you run ads for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide programs?**

Yes, as well as branded ones. Program and clinic campaigns run on Google without certification, and an in-person clinic can name semaglutide or tirzepatide in its US ad text and on its landing page; keyword-targeting the drug waits for Google's certification. On Meta, the ads name the program and the supervision, and naming the drug needs LegitScript certification. Compounded products are described as compounded, not FDA-approved, and never as the same as the branded drug. Compounded products can't qualify for TikTok's prescription ads, so TikTok stays at provider-led clinic awareness.

**How fast can our weight loss clinic ads run?**

Program and clinic campaigns go live by Day 14: access, an audit and tracking in week one, then the landing page and launch ads in week two, each checked against the rules. Google reviews most ads within one business day. Drug-term keywords wait for Google's certification, and a clinic that prescribes online needs LegitScript and Google certification first, which runs in weeks rather than days. The program campaigns keep consults booking while that runs.

**Can a weight-loss clinic name semaglutide or Ozempic in its ads?**

On Google, since October 29, 2025, an in-person clinic can name semaglutide in US ad text and on its landing page without certification, but it needs Google's certification to keyword-target the term, and brand names like Ozempic are trademarks that carry legal risk of their own. On Meta, naming a prescription drug classifies the ad as pharmaceutical promotion, which requires LegitScript certification. Most clinics are better served naming the program in Meta ads and letting the landing page carry the medication detail.

**Why did our clinic's Meta account get restricted when we only advertise a service?**

Usually the site, not the ad. Meta categorizes advertisers by what the landing page looks like; a page that reads like an online pharmacy triggers the drugs policy and restricts conversion events. Page structure, pixel event names, and the claims on the page all matter.

**Do you run Google Ads for weight-loss clinics without LegitScript?**

Yes. Program- and clinic-intent keywords are open without certification, and an in-person clinic can name the drug in its ad text. Where a clinic wants to bid on drug terms, or ships medication as an online prescriber, MedScale runs the certification alongside the campaign.

## Platform rules Medical weight loss clinics run into.

- [What Are the Rules for Medical Weight Loss Clinic Ads on Meta and Google?](https://medscale.health/answers/medical-weight-loss-clinic-ads-rules) As of October 2026, an in-person medical weight loss clinic can advertise its program on Meta and Google without certification, and may name semaglutide in US Google ad text and on its page, but not keyword-target it. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, pre-clears clinic creative against Meta's health and personal attributes standards before spend. On Meta, only telehealth providers, pharmacies and manufacturers can be authorized to promote the drug; ads target adults, and inferiority statements, pinched-fat close-ups and "tired of the weight?" hooks fail. - [Can You Still Advertise Compounded GLP-1 s With B12 or Niacinamide Added?](https://medscale.health/answers/compounded-glp-1-with-b12-or-niacinamide-ads) As of October 2026, a telehealth brand can still advertise a compounded GLP-1 program, but ads that name a B12 or niacinamide blend, or claim it is significantly different from the approved drug, are the weak point. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, advertises the clinician-led program, not the formulation. FDA's September 18, 2026 warning letter to Empower Pharmacy says its tirzepatide/niacinamide and semaglutide/cyanocobalamin (B12) products appear to be essentially copies of FDA-approved drugs. - [Can You Advertise Foundayo and the Wegovy Pill? Ad Rules for GLP-1 Pills on Meta, Google, TikTok and Microsoft](https://medscale.health/answers/can-you-advertise-foundayo-and-the-wegovy-pill) As of October 2026, a telehealth brand can advertise Foundayo and the Wegovy pill as FDA-approved prescription drugs once it holds LegitScript certification and each platform's own approval: Meta's authorization, Google's certification and Microsoft's preapproval, with TikTok's US rule asking for proof of FDA approval. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, files those approvals before any pill ad runs. Novo Nordisk announced FDA approval of the Wegovy pill on December 22, 2025, and FDA approved Foundayo (orforglipron) on April 1, 2026. Reviewed October 24, 2026
- [Can You Advertise GLP-1 on Facebook and Instagram?](https://medscale.health/answers/can-you-advertise-glp-1-on-meta) As of October 2026, GLP-1 telehealth brands can advertise on Facebook and Instagram to adults 18 and over if no copy implies the viewer's body or health; a prescription GLP-1 also needs LegitScript certification and Meta's authorization. MedScale, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, builds GLP-1 creative against those rules from the first concept, because accounts are lost to a pattern of disapprovals, not one banned claim. Since July 22, 2026, Meta judges before-and-after imagery by the claims around it. Reviewed October 24, 2026
