LegitScript certification service for telehealth
MedScale's LegitScript certification service prepares and files the application, then carries the account through Meta and Google authorization.

Where this goes wrong
What does a LegitScript review check?
LegitScript (the certification Meta and Google rely on before a telehealth brand or online pharmacy can promote prescription drugs) is not a form. It is a review of your licensure, your prescribers, your pharmacy relationships, your marketing claims and your privacy practices, and applications fail on details a founder would never think to check: a state license that lapsed, a pharmacy partner with a discipline history, a page that promises weight loss in pounds. Each failed round costs weeks, and until it clears, the ads that promote your prescription products cannot run.
What we do
What does MedScale do on a LegitScript application?
What is included
- Readiness checklist against LegitScript's published standards
- Page, policy and disclosure rewrites
- Application prepared and filed
- Responses to LegitScript's questions during review
- Meta and Google authorization after certification
- Post-certification monitoring guidance
How it fits with the rest
- Paid AdsCertification opens the prescription-drug ads; the campaign plan runs the open channels while it completes.
- Landing Pages for Healthcare AdsThe same page rewrites that pass LegitScript keep the landing pages within ad policy.
- Ad Account RescueMany rescues in prescribing categories end with a certification plan.
The report reads the same whichever services you buy, because all of them run on the same server-side tracking. See how the tiers bundle them.
Our commitment
How long does LegitScript certification take?
Readiness review complete, fixes made, and the application filed. LegitScript sets its own review time and does not publish one. Condition: Licenses, prescriber and pharmacy documentation supplied in the first week.
LegitScript Certification questions
What buyers ask before they sign.
Do we need LegitScript?
As of October 2026: if you prescribe, sell or ship prescription drugs online and want ads that promote them, yes, on both Meta and Google. Meta exempts ads for telehealth services in general. In the US, Google has let advertisers name a prescription drug in ad text and on the landing page without certification since October 29, 2025, but keyword-targeting drug names needs certification, and telemedicine providers and online pharmacies need it before any prescription-drug ad serves. MedScale tells you which applies on the first call.
What does LegitScript itself cost?
LegitScript's healthcare certification fees, as published on legitscript.com when MedScale last checked them (August 30, 2026): a $975 nonrefundable application fee per website, a $2,150 annual certification fee per website once approved, and an optional $2,500 expedited review that starts within two business days. Probationary certification, where LegitScript applies it, carries a $3,995 annual fee. Those are paid to LegitScript. MedScale's fee for the readiness review and filing is quoted on the call.
How long does certification take?
LegitScript does not publish a standard review time; only the expedited option has a stated start of two business days. MedScale's part, the readiness review and filing, is done by day 21. Plan for the review to take longer than you want, and run the channels that are open while it completes.
What makes applications fail?
Licensure gaps in a state you prescribe into, a prescriber or pharmacy partner with undisclosed discipline, claims on the site that promise outcomes, a privacy policy that does not match what the site does, and affiliates or marketing partners who are not compliant. The readiness review exists to find these before LegitScript does.
Can you guarantee we get certified?
No. LegitScript decides. What MedScale controls is whether the application goes in complete, with the fixes made and the disclosures right, and whether the questions during review get answered quickly and correctly.
What is platform authorization, and why is it separate?
LegitScript certifies you. Meta and Google then each require you to apply inside their own systems and attach the certification. Accounts stall here because nobody knows the step exists. MedScale completes it and confirms the prescription-drug ads can run.

How Do You Apply for LegitScript Certification? Requirements and Documents, Step by Step
As of October 2026, you apply for LegitScript certification in LegitScript's client portal: create an account, choose Healthcare Certification, complete the eligibility form, pay the $975 application fee per website, then answer the questions and upload your documents. MedScale Health, a paid acquisition agency for telehealth brands and clinics, assembles that document pack before the fee is paid. The pack covers a licensure spreadsheet, a telemedicine compliance sheet, every domain you own, affiliates and partner pharmacies, any discipline and a HIPAA-compliant privacy policy.

LegitScript and Google Ads: Which Do You Need, and How Do You Apply?
As of October 2026, a US telehealth provider or online pharmacy needs two certifications to advertise prescription drug services on Google, in order: LegitScript (or NABP, for a pharmacy) first, then Google's own healthcare certification. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, files both in that order and has Google's form ready the day the LegitScript certificate lands. Google's form, Apply for healthcare-related advertising, is filed from the child Google Ads account with its customer ID and the certified domain.

Is LegitScript Certification Worth It?
As of October 2026, LegitScript certification is worth it for a US telehealth brand or online pharmacy that wants paid ads: Google won't serve telemedicine ads without it, and Meta won't run ads that promote a prescription drug without it. MedScale Health, a paid acquisition agency for telehealth brands and clinics, checks which case a brand is in before it pays. LegitScript charges $975 to apply and $2,150 a year per website, and says Visa and Mastercard recognize it for pharmacy payments. In-person clinics, therapy practices and brands running only Meta service ads can often skip it.

How Much Does LegitScript Certification Cost in 2026?
As of October 2026, LegitScript Healthcare Certification costs $975 per website to apply, nonrefundable, plus $2,150 per website each year once approved, so a single-domain telehealth brand pays $3,125 in year one. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, treats that fee as the cheapest line in a prescription-drug ad budget, because Google and Meta will not run those ads without it. Expedited review adds $2,500 per application, and the $2,150 renews every year.

Which Treatments Need LegitScript to Advertise, by Platform?
As of October 2026, a US telehealth brand that prescribes online needs LegitScript plus Google's certification for any Google ad and LegitScript plus Meta's authorization for Meta ads that promote the drug; Microsoft needs its own preapproval and TikTok needs proof of FDA approval. MedScale Health, a paid acquisition agency for telehealth brands and clinics, plans each client's channels from this list. TikTok's rule shuts out compounded GLP-1, unapproved peptides can't run on Google, Meta or TikTok, and therapy, lab tests and med spa procedures need no LegitScript certification.

How Long Does LegitScript Certification Take?
As of October 2026, LegitScript certification takes weeks to a few months end to end: LegitScript publishes no standard review time, but says 70 to 80% of applicants with a complete application are certified in under four weeks. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, plans the calendar around a complete document pack on day one and a two-business-day reply to every analyst question, because those set the pace. About half of complete applications clear in two weeks or less.

Do Telehealth Brands Need LegitScript for Stripe and Card Payments?
As of October 2026, telehealth brands don't need LegitScript for Stripe: Stripe's FAQ says telemedicine businesses don't need it, though telehealth and online pharmacy accounts need Stripe's approval. MedScale Health, a paid acquisition agency for telehealth brands and clinics, keeps ads on the certified domain, so one certificate serves the ads and the processor. Card network rules bind the acquirer: Mastercard requires registration and a compliance check for remote prescription drug sellers, and Visa exempts pharmacy-coded merchants accredited by NABP or, per its program guide, LegitScript.

How Do LegitScript Renewal and Monitoring Work?
As of October 2026, LegitScript Healthcare Certification renews every year: the renewal questionnaire opens 60 days ahead, the $2,150 annual fee per website is charged automatically on the renewal date, and LegitScript monitors the business in between. MedScale Health, a paid ads agency for US telehealth brands and clinics, keeps the renewal and change-notice calendar for the brands it certifies. LegitScript's terms also require notice within 30 days of licence, DEA, business or regulatory changes and of any disciplinary action.
