Telehealth

Telehealth is not one market.

Eight categories are sold online under a prescriber. They share a funnel shape and almost nothing else: a different drug status, a different rule that gets the account restricted, a different certification, a different channel that still works after the platforms say no. We run each one on its own terms.

Why the category matters

The same funnel, eight different rulebooks.

A GLP-1 brand and a peptide brand run the same intake form, the same async visit, the same partner pharmacy and the same monthly subscription. One of them can advertise on Meta and Google once it holds LegitScript certification (the third-party check Meta and Google require before a telehealth business can name a prescription drug in an ad). The other cannot advertise its product at all, because no certification makes an unapproved drug approved.

Therapy is one of the most open categories on every platform; the stimulant prescribed by the same psychiatry brand is one of the most closed. A sleep brand selling home apnea tests needs structure, not certification; the same brand prescribing zolpidem needs both. Treating these as “telehealth” is how accounts get lost.

The table below is the short version. Each category page has the long one: how it is sold, how it gets restricted, what each platform says, what we run, what we measure and what we commit to by day.

Categories

Pick the one you sell.

Certification first

GLP-1 Weight Loss

Semaglutide and tirzepatide programs sold online under a prescriber. The largest telehealth category by spend and the one the platforms, the FDA and 35 state attorneys general are all watching at once.

Closed to paid

Peptide Therapy

BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295 and the rest of the longevity menu. Real demand, sold through compounding pharmacies, and the one telehealth category where paid ads are mostly closed no matter what you certify.

Certification first

TRT and Men's Health

Testosterone therapy, enclomiphene, hCG and the longevity add-ons, sold with at-home labs and a monthly shipment. High intent, high subscription value, and a controlled substance at the center of the offer.

Certification first

Hair Loss and Sexual Health

Finasteride, minoxidil, sildenafil and tadalafil, sold on price and discretion with an async visit and a subscription. The most commoditised telehealth category, and the one where the ad rules are clearest and most enforced.

Certification first

Women's Health

Menopause and hormone therapy, birth control, UTI and yeast treatment, PCOS and fertility support. A category the platforms allow more readily than most, with rules that change by sub-service and by state.

Restricted

Mental Health

Therapy subscriptions, psychiatry and medication management, ADHD evaluation. Therapy is one of the most open categories in telehealth advertising. Controlled substances are one of the most closed. Most brands sell both.

Certification first

Sleep

Insomnia care and sleep apnea care, which look like one category and are two. One sells a visit and sometimes a prescription. The other sells a home sleep test and a device on a resupply plan.

Certification first

Skin and Dermatology

Acne, anti-aging, rosacea and custom compounded formulas, sold through a photo-based visit and a monthly bottle. A visual category in which the visual is the thing the platforms restrict.
